Barking Ladies

Barking Ladies match reports.

First Team

Match called off

U12's

Barking Ladies Reserves 12 Witham Town 0
Barking continued their unbeaten record with a 12-0 win over Witham Town. Barking dominated the first half and 15 minutes into the game Stacy Savage lobbed a shot against to win to start the scoring. Just 5 minutes later Stacy Savage tapped in for 2 at close range. Followed closely with a low cross from Savage to Jo McGuinness who fired into the far post. Savage scored her hat-trick a few minutes later when she chipped a ball over the goal keeper from a tight angle. Stacy Savage scored the 5th from a header after a deep right wing cross from Liane Prior and the 6th after being fed a lovely ball from Leanne Couch. Barking's goal keeper Sarah Ball was fortunate the weather was mild, a colder spell would have seen her freeze on the spot. Any chances made by Witham were quickly picked up by Sarah and sent straight back to the other end.

After half time Barking came out slow but still managed to stay on top of the match. With the ball very rarely out of the Barking half many shots at goal went over or wide, the score should have been increased by at least five. Not disheartened Barking continued to hit the back of the net with Jo McGuinness scoring number 7 from close range and Savage made her double hat-trick to make the score 8. Jo McGuinness made her hat trick on the 9th goal from 12 yards and secured the 10th goal by running the ball under the goal keeper. Leanne Couch not to be outdone made the 11th goal from 20 yards. The final goal of the match came just before the whistle after Stacy Savage broke free and fired the ball home after a 1/1 with the goal keeper.

Team: Sarah Ball, Nicola Maggs, Haylee Bernet, Claire Brookes, Maddie Zucker, Brooke Herbert, Leanne Couch, Stacy Savage, Jo McGuinness, Liane Prior
Subs: Vanessa Doherty, Jemma Barham, Julie Oli

U12's

Luton Town 5 Barking U12 0
Barking came out strong and quickly tried to hit the back of the net when Alex Small found the side instead. Followed closely by Rosie Sweeney who beat 3 defenders only to see the keeper block her shot on goal. Barking were the stronger side in the first half and had many corners, each time the Luton defence kept the back of the net at bay.

The second half saw Barking continue their battle but found Luton had found steam and scored 4 goals in quick succession. Barking were awarded a penalty but was kicked over the bar.
Luton's final goal was scored 4 minutes from time.

Team: Holly Clary, Jayne Bentham, Paris Jones, Emma King, Katie Whitehead, Shaynece Rawlings, Alex Small, Victoria Moorton, April Patten, Rosie Sweeney, Hayley Piggott.

But Barking opened the scoring with a great ball from Holly Griffen to Grace Sale saw her shoot and score. The lead was held for 15 minutes when Tottenham equalized. A very tough game but a good result. The teams meet again next month in the league cup.

The only chance that Buntingford made was easily saved by Karla Joseph. The second half saw Daisy Cook score the 3rd and apart from a few minutes of attack by Buntingford, Barking remained in charge keeping Buntingfords goal keeper busy with at least 6 good saves.
