Match results, reports, fixtures and league tables for Westward Developments Devon Women's League Premier Division and Division 1.
Premier Division
Another week, another five goals. Plymouth Argyle Res maintained their 100% start in the Westward Developments Devon Women’s League Premier Division with a 5-0 defeat of Exmouth Town. Goals from Thompson, Hugill, McCann and Hagan (2) made it four wins in four starts for the reigning champions.
Georgeham & Croyde stayed in second on the back of a 3-0 win at Exeter Rangers, with goals from Baker, Pugsley and Dixon. Dawlish Town returned after a week’s lay-off with a 3-1 defeat of Torquay Ladies. Blagdon (2) and former Torquay player Bayley were on target for Dawlish, with Torquay’s strike coming from Madge.
Division 1
Barnstaple Town kept up their charge towards the Premier division with victory over Galmpton United. Barnstaple’s two goals came in the final twenty minutes, from Bawden and Aspinall.
Ilfracombe Town came home from Torridgeside with all three points, their 6-2 victory hauling them up to second place in the Division One table. Early leaders Bideford suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of Tavistock. Tavistock, securing their first win of the season, took the game 8-3, with goals from new signing Bench (3), Parsons (2), Jones, Atkinson and Hone.
Liverton United seem to be putting their nightmare start to the season behind them, restricting Feniton to a 1-0 win at their Halford ground. Churchill scored the only goal of the game, raising Feniton to third place in the table.
Plymouth University and Rolle Rockets return to the fray next weekend, with just Exeter Uni yet to make a start to their campaign.
