Westward Developments Devon Women's League

The Westward Developments Devon Womens League was restricted to four scheduled games on Sunday, as the League Cup Quarter Finals took centre stage.

All four went to League form, with the only all-Premier Division tie going to Plymouth Argyle Res, two Sam Blake goals seeing off hosts Dawlish Town.

Two Charlotte Peters goals, backed up by a single strike from Lise Marie Fletcher, were enough to take Exeter University into the Semis at the expense of Division One leaders Barnstaple Town, for whom Sarah Dennis hit the net.

Division One Feniton gave Premier opponents Isca Vikings a run for their money, holding them to 1-1 until the last five minutes when Isca took the lead and the tie. Lynn Armstrong was on target for Feniton, with K-Lee Beer and Jodie Mills doing the damage for Isca.

Torquay Ladies enjoyed the most comfortable win of the Quarters, defeating Rolle Rockets 4-0. Rachel Gue, Helena Ruffles and latest signing Leah Hamlet fired home for Torquay, with a Rolle own goal completing the scoring.

Premier Division Exeter Rangers were unable to raise a side to travel to Georgeham, and the League game will be re-arranged later in the season. The only remaining Premier fixture saw Exmouth Town record a 4-0 victory at Totnes Town. Exmouth were 2-0 up within five minutes, and had completed the scoring by half-time. Lynsey Winton, Leonie Drury, Amy Earle and Sarah Lawler all netted for the visitors.

The Division One mid-table clash between Ilfracombe Town and Galmpton United resulted in an 8-1 win for Galmpton. Playing with ten, Galmpton moved to 3-0 at half-time, when an Ilfracombe injury made it ten-a-side. Galmpton won the second half 5-1, with Jo Fawke, returning from long-term injury and Leanne Hunt each claiming four goals. Shelley Greaves scored Ilfracombe’s consolation.
