U17's: England v USA

International Friendly Tournament
Curracloe United FC
2nd April 2005
England have lost 3-1 to the United States in the final of the Women's U17 International Tournament here in Curracloe, County Cork.

After a goalless first half, Fulham's Natasha Dowie gave Jane Ebbage's side the lead on 42 minutes but a double-strike midway through the first half from the USA ended any hopes England had of successfully defending the tournament they won last year.

Those goals were followed by another in injury time as the US ran out as 3-1 winners.

England's run, and second-place finish in the tournament will be seen as a success, with good wins over both Northern Ireland (4-1) and the Republic of Ireland.
