U13's and U14's match reports.

In a keenly fought local derby, the home team took the spoils in a match which Rangers deserved something from the game. Within a minute of the start it was advantage Clough as a free kick was awarded and duly crashed home from a tight angle. Rangers were shell shocked as the visitors continued to dominate. In another attack the home team doubled the lead as a loose ball was knocked home. Rangers had a chance to pull a goal back when Jenna Jones saw her shot go just past the post. Player of the match Danielle Archer was the busier keeper as she did well on several occasions to prevent further scores.

The second half gave Rangers the advantage of slope and wind as they started to create several openings. Poppy Wilkinson and Amy Vickers dominated in defence as Fay Broderick and Victoria Abbott took the game to the home team. The Clough keeper brought off a couple of great saves as both Grace Wilkinson and Nicole Blanchard saw shots go agonisingly wide. Howden Clough held out for a good win, with Rangers looking forward to the return in a couple of weeks.

Rangers showed fantastic spirit and character to bounce back from the previous week's worst ever defeat. Amy Dickinson struck to give the visitors the lead to shock the home team. Emily Spink, Melissa Glover and Danielle Blakeley defended superbly as Rangers kept the high flying home team at bay. Rosie Mason and Elissa Hill combined well to keep Rangers going forward with Maddison Gavaghan in goal pulling off some great saves. Even she had no chance with the home team's equaliser, but the whole team can be proud of a good away performance in a 1-1 result.
