The Under 10's won a thrilling 4-3 victory over Denham United Wildcats in the HGFL on Saturday.

Spurs weathered the early Denham storm and then went ahead following an excellent solo run by Georgia Miller midway through the first half.

In the second half, Spurs quickly went 3-0 up thanks to Miller and Hannah Fenton-Burgess finding the net. However, Denham pulled one back, but a well-taken goal by Fenton Burgess put Spurs back into a 4-1 lead before Denham United put a great fight in the closing stages with a further two goals.

The Under-10 Blues continued their impressive form with a 6-0 win over Hitchin Town Belles.

Danielle Wheeler fired home the opener and then Chloe Smith out in a superb cross for Lulu Fox to double the score after twelve minutes, with the same player giving Spurs a 3-0 advantage before the interval.

In the second half, a through ball for Izzy Ruebens-Crompton allowed her to hit the fourth goal and Izzy was on the spot again when she struck from the edge of the area. A typically good build up and set up Fox to score with a great drive to seal her hat-trick and a fine Spurs performance to keep the Blues in poll position at the head of the league.

A tight game saw Spurs have the lion’s share of the play, but a dogged display by Hemel Aces kept the score down to 1-0.

A single strike from Bobbi Cubberley, who directed her shot into the top corner as the ball was cleared to her was enough to win the match, but the defence and keeper had to be alert to Hemel’s breakaways.

A further opportunity presented itself to Cubberley from the penalty spot after a handball, but her shot was kicked away by the goalie.

Squad : - Lily-Anna Tyrimos, Shoshana Field, Vicki Blake, Hollie Watson, Katie Bell, Tianna Carrington, Marva Kreel, Bobbi Cubberley, Laura Newby, Tori Tripp, Amy Woff, Charlotte McLucas.

HGFL Cup – Group A

Spurs eased through this League Cup tie against Hemel Hempstead Town Girls with Rosie Kmita opening the scoring within the first three minutes and Charlotte Dean adding a second goal two minutes later.

Whitney Tango scored two goals in three minutes and Dean got her second goal to put Spurs into a 5-0 lead at the break.

Spurs dominated the second half with Tango adding four more goals to complete a double hat-trick. Two goals from Molly Kmita - including a header, being the smallest player on the pitch - and other goals from Renata Inniss, Nikki Hunnable and Rosie Kmita took the final score to 14-0 despite a brave performance by the Hemel keeper.

An impressive first half by Spurs produced a nine-goal first half blitz against St Albans today with some football that was a joy to watch.

Lindsey Cockle started the scoring when she volleyed home on the line and this was quickly followed by a classic drive from Chloe Gunn. Some neat passing found Rhiannon Kelly with space on the left to run and lob the keeper for number three.

Gunn’s low cross was netted by Leasha Ngotho to claim her first goal for the team, followed by Kelly’s second of the match, forcing home Jodie Fenn’s cross. Chloe Gunn repeated her goal with another fine shot to make it 6-0.

A great move produced another Fenn cross to Andrea Edobor, who hit a crisp left-footed volley for the seventh and the same player added another with an equally well-placed drive. Rhiannon Kelly rounded off the half with her hat-trick goal from close range.

The second half saw St Albans salvage their pride with a spirited performance that saw Spurs goals dry up.

Squad : - Sian Osmond, Nicola Davey, Jodie Fenn, Lucky Di Biasio, Paige Barnard, Zoe Jackson (c), Katie Goodland, Chloe Gunn, Stephanie Smith, Andrea Edobor, Leasha Ngotho, Lindsey Cockle, Rhiannon Kelly

A close game saw Spurs U13 Blues lose out to a late goal.

In an end-to-end match, Spurs took the lead when Rosie Daly chipped a defender and the goalkeeper to score. Bushey pulled level and then went ahead 2-1, just before the break.
Winger Ruby Marlow broke through on the right and cut in to score and bring it back to 2-2, but a pacy attack by Bushey led to their third goal to make the final score 3-2 and to disappoint a spirited effort by the Spurs girls.

GREATER LONDON REGIONAL WOMEN’S FOOTBALL LEAGUE – RESERVE DIVISION 1

A late flurry of goals by Spurs Reserves broke the resolve of Long Lane Reserves and took the three points.

Spurs had to show strong character as they absorbed the home side’s pressure and after 70 minutes, they turned on the goals to win the match. Sam Garner set up Hannah Charman to make it 1-0, then Jessie Richards rounded the keeper to score the second after a good pass from Kerry Daniells.

With keeper Lisa McCabe keeping the ball out at the other end, Charman broke away to finish the scoring with her second to take the Reserves’ unbeaten run to five matches.

L&SERFL – PREMIER DIVISION

A pulsating game was sparked into life by Jenna Brailey’s stunning volley that gave Spurs a 25th minute lead. Carshalton got back in the game with a quickly taken free-kick that caught Spurs out, but a foul on Rosi Webb earned a penalty that Sarah Green converted coolly.

Once more, some loose defending cost Spurs a goal straight after the restart as the visitors pulled level again and then they took the lead with a break down the middle.

With time running out, a double substitution made the difference, as Green struck a 25 yard free-kick into the roof of the net to equalise and Spurs just failed to take some late chances to win the game.
