Rottingdean 7-1 Felpham

20.11.05
Ladies Challenge Trophy Quarter Final
Once again Felpham found themselves travelling to an away game with only 10 players and against the League leaders we were asking for trouble.

Despite going 1-0 down very quickly Felpham steadied themselves and playing 4-3-2 we tied to take the game to Rottingdean. They were very organised and it was soon obvious why they had only drawn 2 and not lost any games. The defence valiantly soaked up a lot of pressure but by half time the score was 3-0.

We could have chosen to go defensive, but in a Cup quarter final there was no point and within 5 minutes of the restart with Rottingdean thinking it was a party Jemma Hill didn't give up on a long ball and despite defensive pressure, brushed her aside and calmly shot from the edge of the box to make it 3-1. Felpham continued to press but the extra player began to tell and with some excellently taken goals Rottingdean got the result they deserved.

Team: Talbot, Thompson, MacPherson, Sleet, Osborne, Bruce, Pratt, Turnbull, Shepherd, Hill

Teams: Felpham Ladies
