Denham United U11 Wildcats 2
Tottenham Hotspur U10 Whites 0
FRIENDLY

The U10 Whites put up a brave show in their 2-0 defeat by Denham United U11 Wildcats in this friendly.

Denham’s early pressure brought out some excellent defending by Natasha Smitsa and player of the match Jenny Hunnable plus some great saves from Kitty Chapman to keep Spurs in the game.

Spurs soon started to find their feet and midfielders Emma Lee, Georgia Sanders, Evie Rose and Isabella Rueben-Compton drove the team forward into the Denham half. Tia Fogarty worked tirelessly as the lone striker throughout.

Denham deserved their victory on the day but it was a good experience for the Spurs girls against an U11 side that finished fifth in last year’s Under 10 top division.

Team : - Kitty Chapman, Jenny Hunnable, Natasha Smits, Georgia Sanders, Emma Lee, Isabella Rueben-Compton, Evie Rose, Tia Fogarty

Denham United U11 Panthers 3
Tottenham Hotspur U10 Blues 0
FRIENDLY

The Under 10 Blues worked hard in the first ever friendly fixture before eventually losing out 3-0 to Denham United U11s Panthers.

Spurs played some neat attractive football generated by the midfield partnership of Tara Sandford and player of the match Christie Page. Chloe Tunnicliffe produced a number of good runs and is ever improving whilst goalkeeper Jacqueline McLucas’ handling was excellent.

Tottenham Hotspur U11 Blues 11
Barking Ladies U11 1
FRIENDLY

Spurs U11 Blues kicked off their new campaign with a home friendly against the Barking league champions.

Tottenham started slowly but popped in two quick goals after 5 minutes, but then Barking pulled one back and tried to make a game of it. Spurs took the initiative and went into the break 3-1 up.

Half time saw a change of tactics and Spurs began to play the way that saw them take a treble last season. Eight more well taken goals and a complete battering of the woodwork saw the home outfit finish off a superb display of controlled football. The Barking keeper had a good game despite the score-line, saving her side further blushes.

Debutants Georgia Miller and Jemma McCarthy showed superb qualities, with Chloe Smith tormenting the visiting defence. Captain Phoebe Guiver and Louisa Fox gave an excellent display in midfield and Kayla Miles and Lauren Holman helping out from the Whites, both gave solid performances.

The goals came from Georgia Miller 5, Louisa Fox 3, Chloe Smith, Jemma McCarthy and Phoebe Guiver.

FRIENDLIES

On Saturday, the Under 11 white team went to Denham to play what was the Whites first real competitive game together and it was impressive to watch, showing good potential for the coming season.

Each girl played to the best of their ability and gave 100% commitment in achieving a very satisfying result, achieved with a well-taken hat-trick from Alison Woodward in the Panthers match and with Louise Waldock and Abigail Barrett hitting the net against the Wildcats.

Hormead Hares U14 1
Tottenham Hotspur U14 Whites 3
FRIENDLY

Spurs U14 Whites prepared for the new season with another high-scoring friendly at Hormead.

Their seven goals against the Hares came through a Chloe Gunn hat-trick along with single strikes from Jemma Good, Stephanie Smith, Paige Barnard and Lindsey Cockle, although the defence was tested by a sprightly Hares attack who breached the Tottenham back line four times themselves.

Squad (from): - Nicola Davey, Sian Osmond, Jemma Good, Jodie Fenn, Paige Barnard, Zoë Jackson (c), Stephanie Smith, Lucky Di Biasio, Andrea Edobor, Chloe Gunn, Lindsey Cockle, Leasha Ngotho, Elisa Gur, Tarn Harris, Tessa Osborne, Katie Goodland, Vanessa Hassans

Southend United U15 Development Squad 1
Tottenham Hotspur U15s 0
FRIENDLY

The Under 15s prepared for the start of their league season with a well-contested and sporting friendly against Southend United.

A single goal settled the match, but Spurs provided a real challenge for the Essex side and debutante Alex North had a solid game at centre-half. Although Tottenham were limited to eleven players due to injuries and absences, chances did come from set-pieces, which will need to be converted when the real action starts next week.

Squad : - Ricole Vyse, Joy Dutch, Leesa Shields, Alex North, Ryah Vyse, Alex Small, Sophie Petros, Rebecca Hunneyball, Bethany Hunter Scott, Katie Taylor, Charlie Newson-Archer

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies 1
Acton Sports Club 2
SOUTH-EAST & LONDON WOMEN’S REGIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE – PREMIER DIVISION

A fast start from newly promoted Acton Sports Club caught Spurs out and despite fighting back into the match, they slipped to a narrow defeat.

A shot from outside the area beat keeper Lacy Amato and then Gill Blackmore had to clear off the line to keep the ball out.

Spurs pressed the visitors and Carly Snell brought a save from the Acton keeper from a free-kick before Chanelle Breen curled a shot into the net for the equaliser. However, it was to no avail, as a second goal came from a defensive error straight away and despite a couple of decisions for fouls which were not given Tottenham’s way, they could not force another goal.

Team : - Lacy Amato, Carly Snell, Gill Blackmore, Jenny Curtis (Jordan Jacobs), Rosi Webb, Chanelle Breen, Samrawit Bereket, Kathleen Clifton, Geena Gordon, faye Callaway, Lacey Jones (Ebony Heath [Mary Griffiths]).
Unused subs. : - Lisa McCabe, Claire Singh
