Hat full of goals give Army Women a win over Woking

From the kick-off the Army women were dominant and piled on the pressure with plenty of goal scoring opportunities not making the back of the net. But in the 12th minute the pressure began to tell as Alex Cottier opened the scoring for the Army by lobbing the ball over the Woking keeper.

Woking came back quickly and pressurised the Army goal but were soon pushed back into their own half and in the 22nd minute a cross from the right found the foot of Army Leanne Haslam who slotted the ball into the Woking net to make the score 2-0.

More pressure from the Army resulted in a corner and the kick from Kirsty Russell found Alex Cottier who put the ball into the net to make the score 3-0.

Woking quickly re-formed and within seconds of the re-start they pulled a goal back to 3-1 and that's how the first half ended.

In the opening minutes of the second half the Army showed their dominance with striker Jody Baxter putting her first and the Army's fourth goal away. Not to be easily defeated, Woking came back straight away and struck home their second. Within minutes Sandra Robinson struck home making the scoreline 5-2 to the Army. The Army continued to pile on the pressure and seeing the Woking goalkeeper mishandle the ball, Jody Baxter struck the ball into the net for her second goal of the match. The Army were now keeping up a relentless attack on the Woking goal and during a goalmouth scramble saw a fine strike hit the underside of the crossbar and not go in. However they were rewarded soon after with a fine 20 yard drive by Debbie Mills to take the score to 7-2.

In the closing seconds Jody Baxter completed her hat trick to give the Army women a resounding victory of 8-2.
