GIRLS UNDER 11

City Colts B 1 Sunnyside Warriors 4
Sunnyside moved up to 3rd with a victory over the bottom markers. Omiete McKee grabbed the first direct from a corner and Lucy O’grady’s shot on the turn made it 2 before City broke for Corrine Charman to reply with a good goal. Hard working Jodie Harwood notched her first Warriors goal by volleying into the roof of the net and, after the break, more pressure by Warriors culminated in O’Grady’s 2nd.
Irchester Romans 2 Kingsthorpe Leopards 0
Despite being a player short, Leopards played with great commitment and, with a little more luck, could have earned a share of the spoils. As it was, they went down to 2nd half goals by Lisa Nolan and Lauren Passby.
Kettering Town 0 Kingsthorpe Pumas 8
Better luck for Leopards’ stable mates as they closed the gap at the top to 1 point, with a game in hand. Town battled hard against stronger opposition, restricting the visitors to a 2-goal lead at the interval. Puma’s superiority was made to count in the 2nd half as they added 6 more, Charlotte Burrows heading the scoring with 4, the others coming from Lauren Handley, Laura Smith and Jasmine Clarke.
Peterborough United 2 Corby Cougars Inter 2
Leaders Inter dropped their 1st points of the season and had to recover from a 2-0 deficit in an excellent game. Zoe Watkins netted twice for United, firstly finishing off a good team move then adding an individual goal from 18 yards. Inter fought back, taking advantage of a defensive mix up to reduce the arrears before the break and drawing level in the 2nd period. Mickeala Gillon and Alex Hindwood were their scorers.

UNDER 13 7 A SIDE - Blue Division

BLUE DIVISION

Bilton Ajax 0 Newport Pagnell Town 13
Ajax were made to pay for early errors as Newport claimed their 4th successive win. The home side played some enterprising football, hitting the woodwork on a number of occasions, but a strong visiting side earned a dominant victory. The goals were shared between Louise Dyer and Emily Man, with hat-tricks, Leanna Doyle, with a double, and Tina Carter, Amber Witters, Sophie Trotter, Jackie Speed and Daisy Farrugia.
Drayton Grange 1 Kingsthorpe Jaguars 2
The League leaders were made to work hard by Grange but gained a merited reward with a Rachel Duffy goal 5 minutes from time. Despite a lot of 1st half pressure by Jaguars, Ashleigh Baker ensured Drayton in level at half time when she equalised Duffy’s opener. But, though the hosts had a better 2nd half, Jaguars deserved their win.
Rugby Town Girls 3 Olney Town 0
Olney remain without a point as Rugby grabbed their 1st win of the season, thanks to goals by Kathryn Walsh, Lauren Roberts and Loren Hawell.
Sunnyside Warriors 0 Corby Ravens 12
Ravens retained their unbeaten record and 3rd place in the League as they eased past their game hosts. Kirstie Crawford was the main destroyer with 7, both Lindsey Hayes and Louise McGrath hit doubles, with Emma Wiper adding the other.

YELLOW DIVISION

Heelands Rangers 3 Corby Cougars Lazio 6
The main difference between the sides was a nap hand by Lauren Franklin as Lazio claimed their 1st points of the season. Megan Dellow was also on target for Cougars, with the Heelands response coming from Jade Large, with a double, and Rachel Marlow.
Kettering Orchard Park 2 Welland Valley 1
Park bounced back from last week’s defeat thanks to a superb performance by Jodie Rogers, who worked hard in midfield and set up both the home side’s goals, each put away by Amy Cartwright. A reply by Ella Townsend ensured Valley stayed in the game.
Kettering United 9 Vicarage Farm 0
United now have 15 points from 5 games as they head the table. They played the long ball game expertly against a battling Farm side, going ahead after just 4 minutes and adding 3 more before halftime. Imogen Cox helped herself to a hat trick, with doubles coming from Lauren Hoyle, Siana Adams and Maisie Brudenall, while an outstanding defensive performance by Natalie Gamble ensured that the Farm attacks were kept at bay.

11 A SIDE

City Colts 0 Wolverton Wasps 9
An excellent team performance by Wasps saw them go joint top of the League. Natasha McKenzie was their goal hero with a double hat trick and was well supported by Jennifer Yates, Leanne McAllister and Hannah Cunningham.
Corby Cougars Ajax 1 Corby Cougars Roma 8
Roma showed no mercy in their in house derby as they moved above their stable mates in the table. Ajax started well but Roma stood firm and Kimberley Longdin broke to score from the edge of the box. Chelsea Smith doubled the lead after some fine build up and Nicole Tinto added the 3rd before half time, after having been denied previously by Ajax keeper Catherine Lauder. Another strong start to the 2nd half by Ajax saw Shauna Brierley reduce the arrears, but a rejuvenated Roma saw Longdin and Tinto grab their 2nd. Rajna Manojlovic scored her 1st ever goal from close range, then Beth Miller added the 7th and Tinto completed her hat trick just before the end.
Duston Knights 2 Peterborough United 0
A goal in each half gave Knights their 1st points after a closely contested game saw them make the most of their chances. The whole team worked hard and at times put United under relentless pressure to earn goals from Tiffany Gordon and Olivia Atkinson.

UNDER 15

DIVISION 1

Bedford & District 5 Cambridge City 2
A highly competitive game seemed to turn on an unfortunate incident after City had built up a 2-1 lead through Alice Kempski and Rebecca Hewson. Early in the 2nd period, Hewson fell awkwardly after a challenge and suffered a possible broken arm. This affected the Cambridge girls, who saw Bedford come back to win, with Victoria Mawdsley and Carissa Kovoroski netting twice and Leanne Potter once.
Ise Lodge 6 Kettering Town 0
Ise moved level with Newport Pagnell at the top after a fiercely contested game. Steph Donald gave the hosts a good start with 2 goals in the 1st 5 minutes and Lauren Impey neatly finished from close range before half time. Despite good games for Town by newcomer Adele Bowyer and Laura Parrs, in goal for the 1st time, Ise created a number of 2nd half openings and, after Kim Walton had had a header disallowed, went further ahead through Impey, Donald and new signing Joanne Ross.
Priory Parkside 1 Peterborough Diamonds 2
A much-improved Priory performance just failed to produce a result after a tight game that saw all the goals scored in the last 10 minutes. The hosts took the lead through Charlotte Burden, Hannah Arran levelled from the penalty spot and Mikaela Flake grabbed the winner in the last minute.

DIVISION 2

Flitwick Eagles 2 Drayton Grange 0
An even but goal-less 1st half saw Eagles hit the bar and the Grange keeper make some good stops as Drayton defended well when necessary. The 2nd half saw Flitwick pass the ball round well and create a number of chances, 2 of which were taken by Kelly Lee to give them their 1st win of the season.
Vicarage Farm 1 Heelands Rangers 10
Rangers exploited Farm’s lack of their regular keeper in a 1st half that yielded them 8 goals. After the break, Dione Pepper took over between the sticks and made some magnificent saves, which helped produce a more confident team performance. A double hat trick by Leah Hayden, a hat trick for Lacey Hennicker and a Jemima Gates effort saw Rangers go clear at the top, Shereen Soames giving Farm a well deserved consolation.
